Seongjin Yoon
Hi, I'm Seongjin Yoon, a motion graphic designer and animator based in New York City.
Over the years, I've had the chance to create work for some amazing brands and platforms like Adobe, Amazon, Apple, Away, Chase, Meta (Facebook), Figma, Ford, Google, Intuit, Netflix, Spotify, TED-Ed, Vox, New York Lottery, Salesforce, MTV, Tacobell, and many more. From explainer videos and social campaigns to broadcast spots and experimental pieces, I love bringing stories to life through motion.
I'm always experimenting with style—whether it's blending clean design with fluid animation, pushing 2D to feel more volumetric and 3D-like, or exploring motion without traditional anticipation to keep things fresh and unexpected.
Style
As a Creative Director and an Animator, I pursue bold departure from the "Disney Rules" of animation. Standard animation usually tells the viewer what’s about to happen (Anticipation). You are suggesting the opposite: instantaneous or "snappy" transitions.
The Vibe: Kinetic, avant-garde, and high-energy.
The Execution: By removing the "wind-up" before a movement, the motion becomes crisp and surprising. It keeps the viewer’s brain on its toes because it can’t predict where the next element is coming from or how it will react. It feels digital-native rather than hand-drawn-traditional.
